Nashville-based rocker Jon Worthy describes his sound as “if Nirvana had a baby with the Lumineers” — but his latest single, “She’s Alright,” might be the result of that baby being brought up by the blues.
The single is a catchy, upbeat song about a rock goddess that features an unstoppable hook and a drive listeners can’t help but move to. The track is the first full-band song Worthy has self-produced at his home studio, and it’s clear the influence Lincoln Parish has had on his production style (Worthy worked with Parish on the production of his second album, Only a Dream.)
Worthy’s previous releases this year have been a bit more low-key, but “She’s Alright” brings a new energy to his catalogue. The track is reminiscent of The Black Keys and Cage the Elephant, but with a spin from Worthy’s minimal but clever lyrical style.
