Nashville-based due Anana Kaye is hard to define. Self described as “indie alt-Americana,” their influences range from Kate Bush to Leonard Cohen to David Bowie — but their latest single is something a little softer. “Blueberry Fireworks,” which released on March 8, combines Kaye’s low rasp with soft drums, soothing guitar tones, and rich piano that lulls listeners into a melancholy sense of security. The lyrics, which touch on a desire for human connection, are extremely visual; the accompanying music video brings it to life just like their audience imagines.
“We’re really proud of this music video, especially as it touches on the subject of depression and mental illness,” says Kaye. Watch the video and hear the song below.
